Children’s Prayers and Activities
Each month, Voice of Persecuted Christians produces a prayer sheet especially for children. These resources are designed to help children learn about our persecuted Christian family around the world in a way that is simple, age-appropriate, prayerful, and engaging.
Each sheet includes stories or information about believers who are following Jesus in difficult places, along with simple prayers to Jesus and activities such as word searches, code breaking, word unscrambling, colouring, puzzles, and crosswords.
They can be used in Sunday schools, children’s groups, prayer meetings, family devotions, home education, or one-to-one with parents, grandparents, carers, and children.
Helping children pray for the persecuted church
Jesus welcomed children and blessed them. He did not treat them as too young to come near, too small to matter, or too insignificant to be part of His kingdom.
Jesus said:
Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.
Matthew 19:14 — NIV
These prayer sheets help children discover that they too can pray for brothers and sisters who suffer for Jesus. They can learn that the church is one family in Christ, and that when one part of the body suffers, the whole body is called to care.
If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.
1 Corinthians 12:26 — NIV

Why use children’s prayer sheets?
These prayer sheets can help children:
- learn about persecuted Christians around the world
- understand that Christians everywhere belong to one family in Jesus
- pray simple, honest prayers for children and families facing pressure
- grow in compassion for others
- be encouraged by the courage of believers who follow Jesus
- discover that their prayers matter
- take part in the life and mission of the wider church
They also help adults introduce difficult subjects gently and faithfully, without overwhelming children. Some stories from the persecuted church are painful, but they can be shared with care, hope, and trust in Christ.
For families, churches, and children’s leaders
Whether you are leading a Sunday school session, planning a children’s prayer activity, preparing a family devotion, or helping a child pray at home, these sheets are designed to be simple to use and easy to share.
They can be used as:
- Sunday school resources
- children’s church activities
- family prayer resources
- prayer group handouts
- home education material
- church mission resources
- one-to-one discipleship tools for parents and children
As children pray, they join the wider church in remembering those who are mistreated for the name of Jesus.
Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
Hebrews 13:3 — NIV
