Stories of Persecution

First person stories from the persecuted church

You cannot fellowship with a statistic. But you can remember a brother. You can grieve with a sister. You can pray for a family by name.

The Voice of the Persecuted brings you real stories from believers who are suffering, enduring, witnessing and standing firm for Jesus Christ. Some stories are joyful. Some are painful. All of them help us remember that the persecuted church is not distant from us. In Christ, they are our family.

Here you can read, pray, share, subscribe and give. So that suffering believers are known, loved and strengthened.

Why stories matter

The persecuted church must never be reduced to numbers alone. Statistics can inform us, but stories bring us into fellowship. They help us see the cost of following Christ in real lives, real homes, real churches and real nations.

Through these stories, you can learn what believers are facing, how the Lord is sustaining them and how Voice of Persecuted Christians’s partners are serving practically in the field. Some accounts tell of imprisonment, loss, violence or displacement. Others tell of endurance, answered prayer, new believers and churches planted under pressure.

Every story is an invitation. To remember, to pray, to act and to love as one body.

Featured stories

Some of these stories will contain challenging material which you may find upsetting. Others will be incredibly encouraging which may bring you to praise.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

How to respond

04 - GIVE

Give

Give to support practical and pastoral help through trusted partners serving believers and families affected by persecution.

What these stories show

These stories do more than describe suffering. They show how Christ sustains His people under pressure and how the wider church can stand with them in love.

They also help reveal what is happening through Voice of Persecuted Christians’s partners in the field.

Strengthening pastors, caring for prisoners’ families, supporting displaced believers, providing pastoral help and helping the church remain faithful where the cost of discipleship is high.

In this way, the page serves both fellowship and faithfulness. Helping the church see, pray and support wisely.

The believers whose stories are told here are already praying for the UK church. They pray for our faithfulness. They pray for our witness. They pray for our freedom. When you read a story here, you are reading from someone who is probably already praying for you.

That is what the body of Christ looks like when it is working properly. Prayer in both directions. Care in both directions.

One family holding each other up.

A fellowship that flows both ways

You’re on the right site, even though our name has changed

We’ve refreshed our brand and now go by Voice of Persecuted Christians. Our mission remains the same: to support people who face persecution for their faith. This site, voiceopc.org, is the official home for news, stories, and ways to help.

If you’re looking for resources from the former website, you’ve found the right place – everything you need is still here, just under our new name.
