ASIA BIBI’S HUSBAND CALLS ON UK FOR ASYLUM

pakistan mapThe husband of Asia Bibi has called on Theresa May to grant asylum for his wife and family, after Pakistan caved in to demands by extremists to prevent her leaving the country.

The Pakistan government has conceded to extremist demands to impose a flight ban on Asia, even though the Supreme Court has thrown out the blasphemy charges against her.

The protesters want the country’s apex court to review its decision to set her free.

Asia’s husband, Ashiq Masih, warns the family is in great danger and has asked the UK to grant them refuge. According to the Press Association, Ashiq said: ‘I am requesting the Prime Minister of the UK to help us and as far as possible grant us freedom.’

He has also appealed for asylum in the USA and Canada. Asia’s lawyer, Saif ul-Malook, has already left the country, saying he needs to remain alive to fight for justice for his client. He was taken to Holland by United Nations and EU officials.
