Andrew Brunson’s speaking dates confirmed

Former prisoner of faith Andrew Brunson will be speaking in the UK this autumn, as part of Release International’s programme for the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (IDOP).

For 23 years Andrew, from the United States, and his wife Norine served as missionaries in Turkey. In October 2016 they hit the headlines around the world when they were arrested and falsely accused of terrorism. Andrew was held in prison for two years. Following much prayer around the world, he was dramatically released in October 2018.

Today Andrew and Norine lead a ministry called WaveStarters, which seeks to prepare Christians to stand firm in their faith in difficult times.

Here are Andrew’s speaking dates in the UK:

Wednesday, November 19: Holy Trinity, Eastbourne, 7:30 pm
Thursday, November 20: Esher Green Baptist, Surrey, 7:30 pm
Friday, November 21: Sketty Community Church, Sketty, Swansea, 7:30 pm
Sunday, November 23: Bilton Evangelical Church, Rugby, 10:30 am
Sunday, November 23: St Thomas Church, Aldridge, 6:30  pm
Monday, November 24: St John’s Church, Ballyclare, 7:45 pm
Tuesday, November 25: Harper Church, Glasgow, 7:30 pm.

Andrew’s book, God’s Hostage, is available from Release International’s e-store, here. You can also listen to Andrew speaking about his time in prison, on the Voice of the Martyrs Radio show, here.

This year’s IDOP is on Sunday, November 2. Release International will be producing a special video that you can use in your church, as well as other prayer resources that can be downloaded. Do get IDOP on your church’s calendar now, and watch out for more details in the coming weeks.

  • Pray for all the arrangements for Andrew’s visit to the UK this autumn, and that what he shares will have a real impact on Christians in the UK.
  • Pray that all the resources Release International produces will be well used by churches to mark this year’s IDOP.
