Running 50 @ 50 in support of Voice of Persecuted Christians

As Voice of Persecuted Christians and Simon Harris both celebrate their 50th birthdays, please support Simon with his personal challenge to run 5 x 10km timed runs during 2018 or 50 @ 50!

Simon writes, ‘As I celebrate my 50th year I’ve decided to challenge myself once again! My goal this time around is to run 50 kilometres over 5 x 10km timed runs so basically one 10km run for each decade.

I’m doing this to support the work of Voice of Persecuted Christians, a charity also celebrating their 50th year. They are a Christian ministry that helps each of us engage with those facing persecution across the world for their Christian faith. They do this through raising awareness of their situation, encouraging prayer and by responding to their practical needs.’

The five 10 kilometre events Simon has chosen to run at are:

1. Civil Service Capital Challenge at the Olympic Park (which I completed on the 16th May).
2. The London Vitality 10k – 28th May.
3. The Richmond Summer Riverside 10k – 21st July.
4. RAF 100 year Spitfire 10k at Colindale – 2nd September.
5. Bournemouth Supersonic 10k – 6th October.

As you can see he is well into his challenge but there are still kilometers to go which need your support…

You can support Simon by making a donation through his Just Giving page here.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell your details on or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to us here at Release so it’s a very efficient way to donate.

Thank you for supporting Simon in his challenge and to raise money for our persecuted family!

You’re on the right site, even though our name has changed

We’ve refreshed our brand and now go by Voice of Persecuted Christians. Our mission remains the same: to support people who face persecution for their faith. This site, voiceopc.org, is the official home for news, stories, and ways to help.

If you’re looking for resources from the former website, you’ve found the right place – everything you need is still here, just under our new name.
