HOW INDIA’S NEW ANTI-IMMIGRATION BILL COULD FEED PERSECUTION

India is set to pass a new law denying citizenship to Muslim refugees fleeing persecution. There are concerns that the bill could fuel discrimination against the country’s Christian minority, who face increasing attacks.

India has become a country of particular concern to Release International. Violence against Christians has been getting worse and more states are imposing anti-conversion laws. This is set against a context of increasing religious intolerance and nationalist extremism.

UCB Radio’s David Peek asked Andrew Boyd how a bill, ostensibly targeting Muslims, could also make things worse for India’s Christians…
